Volkswagen & Audi Centre is extremely proud to announce that we have entered the notorious Lombard Car Rally in Bath. Specifically, our owner, David Turner, is the taking part. He will combat his specialist rally skills in a Jamie Turner Ford Escort Mk2 2.0 ‘More-Door’. The rally is the UK’s first premier rally tour with stages, where spectators can watch their favourite drivers race against one another in the finest, period rally cars around. The event will take place this October 2020. However, the event organisers are keeping a careful watch on social distancing guidelines. Back up options are in place to avoid cancellations, so keep your eyes peeled!
The Lombard Car Rally will take place at the infamous Bath Racecourse in Gloucestershire on the 16th, 17th and 18th of October 2020. This isn’t just any rally, as it features historic, period cars in honour of the first events that took place between the 1970s’ and 1980s’. So far, over one-hundred racers have entered to compete. We would be delighted to see some familiar faces at the event. For those feeling doubtful because of the current climate with the pandemic, rest assured the event holders have a backup plan should complications incur.
Originally held in Yorkshire, the Lombard Rally sits close to the hearts of many. Particularly, for our team at the Volkswagen and Audi Centre. On the Saturday, entrants and ticket holders can attend the Bath Assembly Rooms for some fine dining – nothing about this event is worth missing. Furthermore, we will all be celebrating the victories of Henri Toivonen, renowned for his title as the youngest to win a world championship round in 1980.
